Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You with heavy hearts and minds filled with difficult thoughts. Lord, You know that sometimes, as police wives, the word “divorce” rises up in our minds. We confess this to You, knowing that You see our deepest struggles.

Father, give us the courage to ask ourselves why these thoughts have come. Instead of pushing them away in shame, help us to bring them into Your light. Your Word tells us that “the truth will set you free” (John 8:32, NLT), and we need Your truth to illuminate what’s happening in our marriages.

When our husbands return home with attitudes that wound our hearts, please give us the wisdom to address these issues rather than letting resentment grow. When loneliness overwhelms us and we feel disconnected, help us recognize that pain and bring it to You and them.

Lord, in moments when we grow weary of this lifestyle—the schedules, the worry, the absence—remind us of the commitment we made and the love that brought us together.

Give us courage, God—courage to seek counseling if needed, have honest conversations with our husbands, and confess our thoughts to You. Help us remember that “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7, NLT).

We ask You to heal the broken places in our marriages. Bring restoration where there is distance, understanding where there is confusion, and love where there is hurt. Help us see our husbands through Your eyes and give them the ability to see our struggles, too.

Lord, we trust that You desire our marriages to be whole. Guide us toward the help we need and help us bring every thought captive to You, especially when those thoughts feel too painful to face.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
